Merry Christmas

Rudolph is shining up his nose,

Father Christmas is ironing his famous clothes,

Trees are being decorated in every house and flat,

Even the tube staff are donning that symbolic Christmas hat,

It’s cold outside and it’s the perfect time of year,

To drink mulled wine and spread festive cheer.

The preparations are half the fun,

Christmas jumpers and the Thanksgiving Friends rerun,

TV chefs convince us brussels can be tasty,

Present buying starts to become a little hasty,

Tubes of wrapping paper being unravelled,

Miles and miles that families have travelled,

All to be together on this special day,

To be merry, give thanks and even to pray,

That next year we can do it all over again,

So Merry Christmas to you and good will to all men (and women).
